Cherokee is a professional DJ, mentor and educator based in Gent, Belgium, offering DJ training, coaching, and classes to aspirings DJs. With two decades of industry experience, she has become a prominent figure on the global scene, showcasing her skills across a variety of genres. In 2005 she begen her journey by spinning house music using vinyl records on Technics 1200MK2 Turntables and she continues to train students on both Digital and Vinyl equipment. Cherokee's signature style is rooted in deep, soulful, disco and funky house music, but her versatility extends across a wide range of house sub-genres, including Deep House, Nu Disco, Jackin House, Tech House, Afro House, Broken Beat, Nu Jazz, Lounge, Funk, Soul and Disco. Beyond her performances, Cherokee offers personalised DJ training and coaching for all ages and genders. She is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of talent and inspiring others to pursue their dreams of becoming a DJ through her personalised DJ training and coasching sessions.

DJ Lessons & Price: 🎧

Introduction to DJ-ing: 88.55€ (90 minutes) Digital DJ or Vinyl Available

This intro course covers the essentials like beat matching, pitch control, EQing, and more. Learn on pro-level DJ equipment, explore DJ software, and progress at your own pace. No experience needed (*optional bring your own music on USB)

What you'll learn to master:

• Familiarising yourself with DJ equipment and the DJ booth

• BPM structure and using headphones effectively

• Beat mixing techniques, timing, tempo and pitch control

• Previewing, cueing up next track, pressing play and transitioning

• EQ’ing, adjusting master volume, and individual levels

• Time to put it all into action and begin mixing

• Discover the cost of getting started as a DJ (hobby Vs professional)

Sessions & Location

Situated in the heart of Ghent, your 1 on 1 training session will be held in my personal home studio. You'll be surrounded by vinyl records, studio gear and two DJ set-ups. You’ll work at your own pace with dedicated Q&A time—bring your questions! The exact location will be shared after you sign up.
